This session focuses on designing highly effective lessons using Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction. Participants explore how review, explicit instruction, modelling, guided practice, questioning, checking for understanding and independent practice combine to maximise learning.
Teachers learn how to sequence learning carefully, reduce cognitive overload and provide appropriate scaffolding before gradually releasing responsibility to learners. Practical classroom examples demonstrate how these evidence-informed principles can be applied across different subjects and age groups.
By the end of the session, participants will have a practical framework for planning lessons that consistently improve student learning.
