About us

Great teaching can be taught.

Elm Education builds the training and the tools that schools use to raise the standard of teaching — wherever in the world they are.

We are an international education company with a single purpose: to help every teacher become the best they can be, and every leader create the conditions for them to thrive.

What we believe

We believe every child deserves a great teacher, wherever in the world they go to school. Not just the children who happen to be born in the right postcode, or who attend the best-funded school in the city — every child.

That belief has a practical consequence. If great teaching is something people are simply born with, then there is nothing to be done. But it isn't. Great teaching is a set of knowledge, skills and habits, built on decades of evidence about how children actually learn — and that means it can be taught, practised and improved. Everything Elm Education makes follows from that.

What we do

We work on both halves of the problem. Schools need their teachers to share a clear, evidence-informed understanding of what great teaching looks like — and they need to know whether it is actually happening in classrooms. Most schools have a way of doing the first and very little for the second.

Setting The Standard — the training

Setting The Standard is our professional development course for teachers, accredited by The CPD Standards Office. It runs to nine sessions and 27 masterclass videos — over 15 hours — covering the full arc of a lesson: behaviour, how we learn, planning, learning strategies, collaborative work, use of ICT, assessment and feedback.

It is fully bilingual in English and Arabic, leading to the same certificate, which makes it practical for international and bilingual schools where staff prefer to train in different languages. Every part ends with a reflection check marked to 100%, so teachers finish having demonstrated their understanding rather than simply having watched a video. See pricing and what's included →

Learnalyze — the evidence

Learnalyze is our AI platform for lesson analysis and teacher coaching. A teacher records a lesson; Learnalyze analyses it against your country's inspection framework and reports across six dimensions of teaching — lesson structure, behaviour management, clarity, formative assessment, engagement and adaptive teaching — pointing to specific moments in the lesson as evidence.

Teachers get personalised coaching and an action plan. Leaders get an objective, consistent picture across departments, schools, or an entire system. It doesn't replace a leader's professional judgement; it removes the routine evidence-gathering so the time goes into the coaching conversation instead. Learnalyze has its own site at learnalyze.net.

How they work together

Setting The Standard builds the shared knowledge and skills of great teaching. Learnalyze measures what actually changes in lessons and coaches each teacher individually. Create the change first — then let the data prove it. Each works perfectly well on its own, and many schools use only one. See how they fit together →

Who we work with

Individual teachers, single schools, school groups and government ministries — in the UK and internationally. For larger organisations we build a personalised package around your priorities, your inspection framework and your rollout plan, often combining both products as one school-improvement programme.

Because we work across borders, nothing we build assumes a single national system. Learnalyze evaluates lessons against your own framework, not an imported one, and the course is designed to be as useful in an international school in the Gulf as in a state school in England.

"The greatest privilege in education isn't standing on a stage speaking to teachers — it's seeing those teachers inspire children in classrooms months later."

Accreditation

Setting The Standard is accredited by The CPD Standards Office, the independent international body that assesses the quality and rigour of continuing professional development. Every teacher who completes the course receives a certificate of completion recognised under that accreditation.
